Suzuki has built twelve, yes, twelve, generations of the Carry, affectionately known as the “Half Loaf”. It’s been so successful for the company, particularly in third world markets, that countries such as India built the seventh generation for 25 years straight.
It’s a timeless design and in this video, Ciro De Siena was delighted to finally drive one, alongside the brand new Carry, or as it is being sold in South Africa, the EECO Van.
Driving the two cars back-to-back was particularly illuminating and in some ways, the original from 1989 had the newcomer bested.
And so, Ciro set out to answer the question, should you buy a Suzuki EECO Van? And can the new generation ever be as lovable as it’s predecessor?
