Dramatic footage reveals Storm Kathleen battering a Cornish city yesterday and an unwisely parked automobile being swamped by waves threatening to hold it into the harbour. The video was taken on Saturday afternoon, April 6, exterior the Ship Inn pub, in Porthleven, and reveals enormous waves crashing into the harbour as onlookers might be heard screaming.
A crimson automobile might be seen parked on the harbourfront and is sort of swept away by the water. Patrick Aston, who captured the dramatic footage at excessive tide yesterday, stated that, whereas the automobile fortunately did not find yourself within the harbour, it was lifted nearer to the sting just a few occasions by the power of the water.
The dramatic scenes got here amid heavy wind and rain introduced on by Storm Kathleen which battered Devon and Cornwall till round 10pm yesterday. The counties confronted winds between 50 and 70mph and warnings have been issued that they may pose a risk to life.
