Deputies with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department responded to a crash Oct. 8 at Fourth Avenue Northwest and Key Peninsula Highway.
A car crashed into a pole and two adults died in the crash, according to a sheriff’s department report.
The driver was a 62-year-old woman and the passenger was a 63-year-old man, Pierce County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Sgt. Darren Moss told the Gateway Friday.
“At this time it appears the vehicle drove straight into the pole with little or no attempt to stop,” the report said.
“A traffic deputy said, based on the damage and tire mark, there was no braking before the collision,” Moss said.
Drug paraphernalia and two blue pills were found on the deceased and investigators are waiting for a toxicology report from the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office, Moss said.
Further information was not immediately available.
